On August 22, 2026, doctoral candidate Tran Minh Hau successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in Vietnamese Literature at the University-level Dissertation Examination Committee of Van Hien University. His dissertation is entitled “Dấu ấn văn hóa Nam Bộ trong văn xuôi Bình Nguyên Lộc”.

Approaching Binh Nguyen Loc’s prose from a cultural perspective, the dissertation identifies and examines distinctive features of Southern Vietnamese culture as reflected in cultural life, representations of people, and artistic expression. Through this approach, the study contributes to a deeper understanding of cultural identity in Binh Nguyen Loc’s works and his contributions to modern Southern Vietnamese literature.

During the defense, the doctoral candidate presented the key findings of his research and responded to questions and comments from the Examination Committee. The successful defense marks the culmination of a rigorous research process and represents another achievement in doctoral education and research development at Van Hien University.
